We Want YOU to Play Rugby
The UC Women's Rugby Football Club are looking for new players to join our team! We want anyone who is interested to come out and try it! We know that many high schools do not offer rugby and we expect many to not know how to play. Please do not let inexperience stop you!
Here is an excerpt from one of our teammates who joined as a Freshman in the Fall of 2013:
"My name is Emma Wilhelmus and I was a Freshman this past fall. I am a commuter student so getting involved on campus was very important to me, however, I never expected to play a club sport. During the first week of campus I saw a flyer for the women's rugby team and I decided to go out and try it. I played tennis all through highschool so rugby was definitely new to me! I went to the first night of practice by myself and I met so many amazing people! I literally had a blast! All of the girls, the coaches, and the captains went out of their way to make the new girls feel welcome. Joining the rugby team changed my life. I gained thirty of my best friends, I learned a new sport that challenges me to be the best I can, and I had the amazing opportunity to travel and meet people from other universities. Playing on the UC Women's Rugby Football Club team made my Freshamn year amazing and I can't wait to play through the rest of my college years. I didn't just gain a team, I gained a family!"
