UC vs. Ball State University
The UC Women’s Rugby Football Club had their season opener against Ball State University on Saturday, September 6th at Ball State University. After only practicing for a week, the team took to the field and played an excellent game. UC won with a final score of 87-0.
Six players made their debut for the UC Women’s team, including Player of the Week Savannah Swisher, Player of the Match Hannah Lemley, Carol Mata, Jessica Roach, Ashley Fusting, and Justine Perl. The top scorers included Katy Yoder with three tries, Hannah Lemley with three tries, Carol Mata with three tries, Casey Carver with two tries, Sarah Ackley with one try, and Jorey Bischof with one try. Kicker Casey Carver made 11 out of her 13 kicks.
