UC vs. Eastern Kentucky University
UC Women’s Rugby Football Club played their first conference match against Eastern Kentucky University on September 13th. The match was played at EKU and the final score was 66 to 22 with UC taking home the win!
UC had a slow start but eventually picked up the pace. The forwards played their A-game and dominated the scrums to repeatedly win the ball back from EKU. The team was joined by new players Katie Brewer and Sami Harrell. Katy Yoder, Sammy Niesz, Sarah Ackley, Justine Perl, Hannah Lemley, and Cassie Coggeshall. Kickers Casey Carver and Olivia Ribariu made 8 out of 10 conversion kicks.
UC is very excited to start their first conference season with a win! Next week UC takes on Marshall at the University of Cincinnati campus!
