Your lady ruggers made the 3.5 hour drive down to new conference member WKU's pitch this Saturday to conquer and bring home the bacon. With a 94-0 win, the UCWRFC rookies proved to be the best group of recruits we've ever had. Tries were scored by Kaye Birks, Kendra Petersen, Erin Sang (twice), Jess Roach (twice), Maddy Conklin, Emily Koslovsky, Jorey Bischof, Giselle Coleman, Maddie Boyd, Abby Lowman (twice), and Justine Perl (twice). Perl also added to the scoreboard with 5 conversion kicks (10 points) while Meredith Hinger finished off the game with 2 conversion kicks (4 points). A try was also scored by Lowman and the scrum as a whole as they drove the ball to the try zone together.

Player of the Match this time around is the one and only Rachel Kalwat! She was consistently running the ball and got to a lot of breakdowns. She has shown incredible improvement over the past few seasons and is super aggressive on the pitch. Rachel is a 3rd year student from Chicago majoring in Liberal Arts with minors in Chemistry, History, and Organizational Leadership at UC and plans to apply to medical school this upcoming summer. Rachel is a Founding Mother and Historian Chair of the Jewish Sorority SAEPi on campus.

"I play rugby because I swam competitively my entire childhood and growing up, so when I came to college I wanted to try something different and there was something appealing about tackling people. After my first practice, I was sold," Rachel says.
