EK-Who?

After several detrimental injuries and lots of tension in the air, your lady ruggers pulled off a tremendous win against Eastern Kentucky University this weekend with a final score of 19-15. Sami Harrell, Justine Perl and Erin Sang racked up points in the first half, and Perl's two successful conversion kicks were the icing on the cake.

Players of the Match for this weekend are both Allison Kossel and Maddy Conklin. Even though it was Allison's first game, she provided power in the scrum and had excellent field coverage. She hit tons of tackles and was able to quickly learn how to ruck and play off the ruck. Conk nailed it on breakaway tackles and did a great job covering the field when we were down a player.

Maddy "Conk" Conklin is a first year Health Sciences Major with a Psychology Minor. She is a part of Bearcat Buddies on campus and is hoping to become a ROAR guide in the future. "I play because I get to tackle people and a bunch of funny but also bad*** people play so they make it fun," Conk says. "I also like hedgehogs if you want to put that on [the site]."

Allison is an first year Environmental Engineering Major and is involved in the Mountaineering Club at UC. "I play because it looked cool." Allison is a woman of few words but a crucial part of the team.
