UCWRFC hosted this year's 4th annual Ohio Valley Conference 7's Tournament right here in the heart of it all, OHIO. We invited all our good pals and buddies- shout out to teams from Cedarville University, Marshall University, Eastern Kentucky University, University of Dayton, and Ball State University- to come over for rugby and raffle tickets.

UC and EKU both entered two teams into the tournament, with UC's B-side coming in third place over EKU's B-side, and UC's A-side receiving second place after a close championship game against EKU A-side.

UCWRFC would like to recognize our notable players from the tournament this weekend, Kaye Birks and Brooke Williams! Both of these little rookies had G A M E C H A N G I N G plays during their time on our B-side, which ultimately helped the team secure one big ol' trophy.

"Brooke had a bunch of great runs and was nailing her tackles," Captain, President, and Senior Jorey Bischof noted about Williams' performance. "Especially considering she had to tackle people consecutively a few times." Birks had a lot of breakaway tackles as well and ran full-field to make a game saving tackle against Ball State to take home yet another win for B-side.

A-side as a whole was amazing and extremely consistent despite the amount of pre-game confusion and last minute lineup changes that created a group that had barely practiced together. "Everyone was super confident with the ball and tackles were rarely missed," Fundraising Chair Paige "Versace" Visagie commented in regards to the A-side's performance.
